The True Meaning of Family

Family is so much deeper than blood relations. When I think about it, adoption has been around almost from the beginning of time. Joseph adopted Jesus. Jesus adopted us. The Bible itself has countless examples of families formed without blood connection.

God knew there would be times that we need more than blood relations can give. In a sinful world there are people who share our blood although it wouldn't hurt them much to shed it.

However, God knows that His design for the family is good. At times, God puts people in our lives to redeem the loss and hurt that sin has caused. God puts people in our lives to fill the gaps sin made.

Family are those Irreplaceable people God places in our lives. True family is formed with people that make you feel at home. Those who mutually love each other unconditionally are a chosen family.

Family loves so deeply they are willing to help even when it's inconvenient. True family will give their life for another member no matter how furious they may be at the moment. Family is real with each other even when it hurts.

A well functioning family is not a family that never fights but it is one that always makes up.

Family members speak it like it is- hopefully in love but if not the other may smack the offender over the head- ha, ha j.k. You'll know you're among family when you feel safe to be yourself no matter how annoying you may become:)
