It’s Good They Don’t…

My dad recently made a comment that changed my course of thought. I'd been griping about an important action my child didn't take. As I did so, my dad began to list much that didn't happen to be thankful for. Drugs were not taken, hate was not spoken, and adults were not ignored. My perspective was turned upside down in a good way!
It's so easy to focus on all that those we love don't do. Maybe, a loved one isn't the best comforter when you cry but they never cause you anguish.
Possibly, they never arrive on time but they don't ever stand you up. Could it be that they don't always do the right thing but they don't ever leave without making it right?
What about when it comes to judgments on bigger things. It might be they don't have a job, they didn't go to college, they don't have a home, etc.
Sometimes the don't we see now is the result of a don't they felt previously.
Some don't have a stable home to grow up in, don't have basic needs met, don't have good physical or mental health, or don't get to study because they don't eat if they don't work.
Don't let the negative don't win. Every don't comes with a story. Showing grace and love can change not only other's hearts but also your own.
