Emotions- A Gift From God

My Thoughts for Today: Emotions- A Gift from God During my granddaughter's visit the topic of emotion came to mind. My 15-month-old granddaughter is an expert at communicating her feelings, wants, and needs. My granddaughter is delightful but there are times her emotions get "colorful." I thank God that my granddaughter is a girl of big emotions. People who deal with boat loads of emotion understand the effect each brings. Those who feel an abundance of emotions often show incredible kindness, compassion, and empathy. Jesus displayed many emotions during His time on earth. Christ was sensitive and aware of the feelings of his disciples and community. Some emotions Jesus demonstrated: 1. Tired- He found times to refresh and also encouraged his disciples to rest. 2. Sadness/Grief- Jesus wept when His friend Lazurus died. 3. Anger- Jesus showed anger towards sinful actions of others. 4. Anguish/Need- Jesus asked God to spare Him from death on the cross if there was any other way. 5. Unconditional Love/Compassions- Jesus was willing to die on the cross for us if it was the only way we could be saved.
